If you’ve caught the brand new historical drama World Without End, you may have missed one of Caister’s brightest stars in her biggest role yet. Actress Caroline Boulton plays Sister Elizabeth, a 14th Century nun, and has captivated viewers with her sensitive portrayal.
Caroline, a former pupil of Caister High School, won a part in the globally-broadcast show after also starring in the BBC’s Robin Hood, although World Without End’s $46 million budget means that this is her biggest project yet.
Caroline told the Great Yarmouth Mercury: “Sister Elizabeth is a very pious, confused nun searching for power within the church and who believes she can gain control by helping the Prior Godwyn (Rupert Evans) by acting as his spy and accomplice. Unfortunately not everything goes my way,”
Caroline said of her character, Sister Elizabeth: “I loved playing her! Lots of scowling and it’s so much fun to be mischievous. All my scenes are with fantastic actors too like Charlotte Riley, Miranda Richardson and Rupert Evans, so a really great experience.”
World Without End airs Saturdays on Channel 4 at 9pm.
