Caister Motocross Sensation Gets Set For British Championship

Lewis Cornish is a Caister-based superstar in the making who is set to take the motocross world by storm.

Fresh from an off season of intense training with his Nameplate Services/DCR team, Cornish is putting the finishing touches on his bid to bring home the trophy.

His season doesn’t begin for a couple of weeks, during which Lewis will be in Aragon, Spain for a final training session and tune-up for his racing bikes. Lewis’ father and Team Manager told the Eastern Daily Press: “In these tough financial times getting support for any sport is difficult but thanks to Lewis and his team’s professional image, impressive 2011 results and extensive Press coverage we are grateful to not only hold on to our existing sponsors, but also obtain additional support for 2012.”

“In only his second year in the super tough Elite Championships Lewis has shown that he has the speed to run at the sharp end of this extremely competitive sport, this season we are working towards more consistency which is needed to move up the standings.”

All this preparation should give Lewis the edge when he faces the sport’s greatest riders at the Mettett Superbiker event in Belgium this October. We’ll be reporting on Lewis’ progress, so watch this space to keep up with the latest news on Caister’s sporting stars.
