Why not kick off 2016 with a walk on Caister’s incredible coastline? As well as the wonderful view of the beach there are a number of great landmarks to explore, so today we’re taking a look at some of the incredible walks you can take in and around Caister.
There are a number of routes you can go down to explore Caister. We have chosen two great historical landmarks to look round and explore with a great walk in between- going from Gariannonum Roman Fort to Caister Castle.
When you arrive at the castle (1) you can look around and explore it. As well as the castle itself there is also the car museum, ideal if you are a petrolhead or even just someone who appreciates stylish looking vehicles!
Once you have finished exploring head Northwest on Castle Lane. As you walk down take a slight turn to the right to keep on Castle Lane, taking the first exit on Norwich Road, turning left on Brooke Avenue (if you want to stop for refreshment turn off for Just Inn). Turn onto Clifford Avenue and you will eventually arrive at the Gariannonum Roman Fort, a great historical landmark in beautiful countryside surroundings.
All in all the walk between the two takes half an hour. However in both instances it is the chance to explore a couple of fantastic historical landmarks as well as wandering around Caister and enjoying a pleasurable ramble!
