With 2013 about to come to an end, it’s time to start planning your new year’s eve, and once again Love Caister has been investigating to find the very best new year’s eve events in and around Caister.
Our top pick for a Caister New Year is the Castle Carvery, who will be serving their usual delicious menu, with a bar open till 1am for the adults and a Fun Fort for the kids. Visit their Facebook page for more info.
Family fun can be thin on the ground at New Year, but not in Great Yarmouth – On New Year’s Eve there are two performances of the all-ages pantomime Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the Pavilion Theatre in Gorleston. Shows run at 2:30 and 5:30, and tickets are available at the Pavilion Theatre website..
For more theatreland fun, we highly recommend the 8pm New Year’s performance of the Hippodrome Circus’ legendary circus and water show, an all-out new year’s spectacular with the added bonus of special new year party bags. Visit the Hippodrome website for more details and booking.
And on New Year’s Day, why not celebrate the arrival of 2014 with an exhilarating dip in the ice cold North Sea? On Wednesday 1st January at 10:30am there will be a charity swim at Gorleston beach in aid of St Elizabeth’s hospice. You can register on the day, with entry costing £5 per person.
If you fancy enjoying a wonderful nature walk to kick off the new year, then head down to Fairhaven for 11:am where head gardener Ian West will be leading a special guided tour, including delicious mince pies and hot mulled wine. Entry cost is £6.10 for adults, £3.60 for children with under 5s admitted free of charge. Call 01603 270 449 for more details.
