Most of us take the plunge and learn to swim at sometime. There may be no prouder moment as a child than finally getting that 15m swimming badge.
Yet even those with double that wouldn’t quite make the distance of Caister’s new swimming pool!
At 33m the new swimming pool at Caister Holiday Park is over 30% larger that most pools. Best get those trunks out and start practicing.
The pool was opened recently by former olympic swimmer and Dancing on Ice star Sharron Davies. A patron for many charities, Davies watched a magnificent display by Great Yarmouth’s synchronised swimming team, as she opened the pool.
The swimmer told the EDP,
“Nationally, we are losing swimming pools so I think it’s fantastic that here they are investing,” said Ms Davies, “especially at a time when the Olympics are coming up.
“It’s really important that kids can swim for their health, but also their safety. The bigger pool also means it can cater for all aspects. “I’m a mum of an 18 year-old and a four-year-old and this facility would caters for that age range.”
Caister is well known for being a great holiday destination. Caister Holiday Park is a brilliant idea for a family break. Close to the beach with great links to all of the Norfolk coast there is always something to do.
And now with a gigantic swimming pool theres no excuse not to give Caister a visit.
